Mr. Gene Ray “Geno” Imlay died peacefully at Regency Hospital on August 16th in Macon, Georgia at the age of 59. Gene is survived by his Wife, Pat, Sons, Ronnie (Rebecca) of Forsyth, Georgia, Wesley (Genesis) of Orlando, Florida and Michael (Kristen), of Forsyth. He is also survived by his brothers, Glen (Lisa) Imlay of Macon, Jimmy (Dana) Imlay of Decatur, Tennessee and Gary (Kathy) Imlay of Decatur, Tennessee, one sister Jackie (Don) Shantz of Watseka, Illinois. He is survived by six grandchildren. He was also “Papa” to other children in the neighborhood. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, LaVern and Chad Imlay, of Chicago. Gene was born on August 2nd, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to Chad and LaVern. After moving to Macon, Gene began working for BFI Waste Management. He became owner/operator of his own trucking company, Imlay Trucking in 1999. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 pm on August 20th, 2017 at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, with a visitation to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gene’s life.
