Eric Kent Redd, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 12, 2022. He was born in Forsyth, GA on Christmas day 1972 as the third son to Nat and Pat Redd.
A 1991 graduate of Mary Persons High School, Eric earned an associate’s degree from Gordon State College and also attended Georgia College & State University. A natural problem solver, Eric was able to turn his passion for helping others into a career after earning his Master Plumber and HVAC certifications from Middle Georgia Technical College. He went on to start Eric Redd’s Plumbing in 2000 and began a successful career serving communities across middle Georgia for over twenty years.
Eric was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer among many other interests. A life-long learner, he was in constant pursuit of new skills including becoming a proficient drummer and general aviation pilot.
His happiest days were spent being Dad to Natalie and with friends at the family farm.
Eric is survived by his daughter, Natalie Redd Cheek (Bradley) of Clarksville, TN, grandson, Beckham Cheek, parents, Pat and Nat Redd of Forsyth, brothers, Chad Redd of Atlanta and Evan Redd (Ashley) of Virginia Beach, niece, Lydia Redd Williams (Caleb) of Forsyth. He is predeceased by his brother, Wade Redd.
A celebration of life will be held at Ebenezer Methodist Church in Forsyth at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, February 16th. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Rev. Ricky Niblett and Rev. Pam Johnston will officiate. Interment will follow in Monroe Memorial Gardens.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
