Emmett Benjamin Cook, Sr.

Emmett Benjamin Cook, Sr. of Forsyth, Georgia passed away Friday, December 16, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday 21, 2022 at Shiloh Baptist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Ricky Niblett will officiate. Interment will follow in Geneva Cemetery, Geneva, Georgia. Mr. Cook was born January 12, 1933 in Geneva, Georgia to the late Luke Benjamin Cook and Alma Lee Adams Cook. He was retired from The Department of Transportation and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. Mr. Cook was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Strick Observance Lodge #18, a Past Worshipful Master and a former Shriner. Mr. Cook is survived by his spouse, Maggie Cook; children, Betty Jo Pope (Daryl), Pam Cook and Ben Cook (Debee); sister, Dorothy Selph (Edwin); brothers, Ronnie Cook (Bernie) and Johnny Cook; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Shiloh Baptist Church, 1530 Hwy 41 S. Barnesville, GA 30204. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
