Elsie Watkins

Elsie Watkins, 78, of Forsyth, passed away Monday June 24, 2024. Funeral services will be held at the Lighthouse of Prayer in Forsyth, Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 2:00PM, with Randy Williams officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. 

Elsie was born February 2, 1946, in Forsyth to the late Perry and Ruth Slaughter. She retired from the Trio Manufacturing textile mill in Forsyth, where she worked for many years as a spinner. Elsie enjoyed the outdoors, whether fishing, camping with her sisters, or just working in her own yard. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family. 

Elsie is survived by her daughter, Wanda Stokes (Daniel Walker) of Macon; son, Richard Aaron “Ricky” Watkins of Forsyth; four grandchildren, Holly Wood, Ashley Michelle Hill (Brandon), Amber Watkins, and Randy Watkins; three great-grandchildren, Sophie Collins, Charlie Williams and Cuyler Hill; brother, William Slaughter; sisters, Mary Smith, Martha Raybon (Johnny), Betty Whitman, and Annette Clarke (Lennis); lifetime partner, Tom Williams; and her beloved canine companion, Ella.
