Elizabeth Alberta Ross Elkins passed away Monday, March 5, 2018. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 8, 2017, at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. Linda Morison will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside. Mrs. Elkins, the daughter of the late William Eli Ross and Elizabeth Corinne Little Ross was born April 9, 1924, in Bibb County, Georgia. Her husband, Foy Delano Elkins, Sr. preceded her in death. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church and was very involved for many years, teaching Sunday School, planning bereavement meals and outdoor activities for the youth. Midway Baptist Church was always the mainstay of her life since childhood. During World War II she worked at the fuse plant making bombs and then worked at McKesson-Robbins. Mrs. Elkins graduated from Georgia Alabama Business College. She was proficient in typing, shorthand and speedwriting. Due to her managerial skills she was employed with the Auditor Generals Office at Robins Air Force Base for twenty plus years. In the latter part of her career, she was employed in advertising and recruitment for the Air Force at Robins Air Force Base. She loved living at John-Wesley Villas and participating in their activities. Survivors include her children, Cathy Marion of Flowery Branch and Dell (Debbie) Elkins of Macon; brother, Joe (Johnsie) Ross of Macon; step- grandchildren, Sharyn Marion, Bobby (Mandy) Bryan, Troy Day and Amy Day; step-great grandchildren, Mattie Bryan, Mitchell Day, Sydney Marion, Olivia Marion, Matthew Parker and Jonathan Parker; many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Midway Baptist Church, 1200 Moseley Road, Macon, Ga 31220. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
