Elsie Willene Howard

Elsie Willene Howard, born January 1, 1937, in Carrollton, Georgia, passed away at 86 years of age on October 13, 2023, in Macon, Georgia. Willene's lifelong commitment to nurturing those around her was evident through her work as a devoted homemaker and her constant care for her family and friends.
She touched lives through simple pleasures - playing cards, traveling with friends, joining mystery trips, and even playfully picking on her brother-in-law.  Willene's love for her family extended to her garden, which she meticulously nurtured over the years. This resonated with her nature of pouring love into everything she was associated with. 
Willene will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jan Gillespie of Atlanta, Georgia, and Pam Howard of Los Angeles, California; son, Jeffrey Howard of Macon, Georgia; sister, Imogene Gilbert (Roy) of Forsyth, Georgia; and brother, Ray Sullivan of Bremen, Georgia.
In addition to her parents, Zead and Bernell Sullivan, Willene was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Raymond C. Howard; brothers, Larry, Gene, and Richard Sullivan; sister, Shirley Boyce; and son-in-law, Bob Gillespie.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.  The family will greet friends following the service.
