After a long, hard battle with cancer, Dianna Linell Hunter was welcomed into God's loving arms on Dec. 2, 2017. Dianna was surrounded by her Mother and 4 sisters when she was called home. Dianna was born July 15, 1976 in Birmingham, Alabama. She attended schools in Birmingham, Macon, and Forsyth. Dianna received her BS in Biology from UGA and her Teaching Certificate from Mercer University. She taught high school science for 11 years at Mary Persons HS, Forsyth, Ga and Jefferson Christian Academy in Birmingham, Al. In 2015, she felt God leading her to take her love of science on a different path. Dianna received her Masters in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from UAB, Birmingham, Al. in April, 2017. She passed her boards and was certified through ASCP. She was excited about beginning her new career, but a week later, a cancer diagnosis took her down a completely different path. Dianna was a member of First Baptist Church Forsyth, Ga, and First Baptist Church Leeds, Al., where she was a member of the choir. Dianna is survived by her mother, Judy Hunter, sisters, Rebecca Hunter, Elizabeth Hunter, and Rachel Hunter of Forsyth, Ga, and Leah Hunter of Macon, Ga. and her grandfather, Johnny Jones of Leeds, Al. , and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandmother (GranGran) Juanita Jones of Birmingham, Al. A Celebration of Dianna's life will be Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017 at 11 AM at First Baptist Church, Forsyth. Visitation will follow the service. There will be a memorial service Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Christian Academy, Birmingham, Al.
