Darlene Ikner Thompson

Darlene Ikner Thompson passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017, at the residence of Shannon and Christen Thompson, 2307 Montpelier Road, Forsyth, GA 31029.  Darlene was born January 6, 1958, in Warner Robins, Georgia. Her father, Odis Ikner, Jr. preceded her in death. Darlene was affectionately called Sputnik by her father, Mamalene by her family and Lene by her grandchildren.  She was a graduate of Northeast High School and was employed with the United States Post Office as a rural mail carrier.  Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Christen Thompson of Forsyth; mother, Hazel Ikner of Dublin, sisters, Debbie (Bruce) Simpson of Macon and Dianne Barfield of Dublin; brother, Darrell Ikner of Dublin; and three grandchildren, Cayden Thompson, Grayson Thompson and Cohen Thompson.Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
