Colleen Driver White, 96, of Forsyth, Georgia, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 2PM, Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private at Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens.
Daughter of the late Clarence Dewey Driver and Carrie Lee Sharp Driver; Colleen was born on March 18, 1927, in Thomaston, Georgia. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and brilliantly served as a seamstress for the William Carter Company in Barnesville. She was a dedicated and faith-filled member of the First Baptist Church of Forsyth.
Colleen was recognized by many for her love of cooking, and few could resist the mouthwatering dishes she so lovingly prepared. Her singing and warm personality filled her home with joy, love, and laughter, harmonizing beautifully with her passion for nurturing and taking care of her family.
Always described as a faith-filled and loving woman, Colleen's legacy lives on in the kitchen aromas, sweet melodies, and fond memories she leaves behind. Her life, defined by service, family, and love, will forever resonate in those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Colleen will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Deidra Arends of McDonough, Georgia, Cyree White (Randy Hilgert) of Stockbridge, Georgia, and Michelle Woodard (Tommy) of Forsyth, Georgia; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; eleven great great-grandchildren; and her brother, Donald Driver of Thomaston, Georgia.
In addition to her parents, Colleen was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Lewis White, Sr.; son, Lewis White; and daughter, Marsha Cleveland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Forsyth, 95 West Morse Street, Forsyth, Georgia 31029.
