Cleo Cowin from Forsyth, Georgia went to her heavenly home on Wednesday morning, October 5, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM., Saturday morning, October 8, 2022 at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with visitation being held the day before on Friday evening, October 7, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Interment will follow in Monroe Memorial Gardens. Rev. Joey Ellis Pastor of Stone Edge Church will officiate.
Mrs. Cowin, the daughter of the late David and Donie Whitehead was born October 28, 1927 in Webster County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her late husband Thomas W. Martin Sr. and husband, Ted Cowin; her five brothers, Quincy Whitehead, Warren Whitehead, Adolph Whitehead, James Whitehead, Ralph Whitehead and three sisters Frances Whitehead Sparks, Helen Whitehead Fountain and Pauline Whitehead Branch. She retired from The Garrett Company of 20 years in St. Louis, Missouri. Mrs. Cowin, a member of Stone Edge Church was a devout Christian that lived faithfully for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her immediate family and church family. She delighted in spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed immensely.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy (Dot) Jean Tyde of Macon, GA; son, Thomas (Tommy) W. Jr. (Joan) Martin of Macon, GA; grandchildren, Teresa (Gary) Johnson of Eden, UT; Thomas W. III (Chip) (Mandy) Martin of Cumming, GA; and William Chadwick (Chad) (Whitney) Martin of Warner Robins, GA; great-grandchildren, Ashley Pierson of Ogden, UT; Paige Pierson of Detroit, MI; Christopher George of SugarLand, TX; Kayleigh Marie Martin and Krista Claire Martin of Warner Robins, GA; brother, Eugene (Nancy) Whitehead.
