Clarence Alfred Ussery "Hammer", left this earth peacefully on April 10, 2024, with his daughters Tabetha Jones and Lacy Ussery by his side.
Hammer met his beloved bride, Susan Denise Ussery, at the gates of heaven alongside his father Walter "Square", his mother Louise, sister Nelly, brother Jack, cousin Gene "Tootsie", sister-in-law Shirley, and many others.
He is survived by brothers Neil and James "Pushroot", and sister Patricia "Susie", sisters-in-law Sherry Wohner (Randy) and Sherry Ussery, as well as several step siblings.
Tabetha Jones (Glen) and Lacy Ussery (Mase) were his only two daughters, which he loved and cherished. He was "Papa Hammer" to his grandchildren Sky'lar (Kolbi), Riley (Carleigh), Tobey (Shianne), and Daniel "Bryce"; great grandchildren Makenzie, Kaidence, Kayden, Novalynn "Bug", and Kash. He was blessed with so many other family and friends that he loved.
Hammer was a man of many trades and talents. Working in the painting industry was one of his favorite careers until he was employed in maintenance at GE Capital/First Data where he patented an invention, and later retired due to an injury. Hammer loved fishing and was an avid Nascar fan with a one-of-a-kind collection. He also enjoyed collecting coins, pulling pranks, lecturing all of the children in his life about life, and just hanging out with his grandbabies and furbabies (Lance and Evee).
A memorial will be held on Saturday April 13 at 4, at Lake Tobosofkee Arrowhead Park. Food, fishing, and fellowship to follow; all are welcomed, the family asks that you just bring a covered dish as meat will be provided. In lieu of flowers, the family asks instead a donation be made to a homeless shelter or children's hospital of your choice.
