Bonny Wayman Scarbary, 85, of Forsyth, Georgia, traveled to meet his Lord Jesus on Friday May 31, 2024. Born March 21, 1939, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Charles Jefferson and Trixie Dupree Scarbary, Wayman was one of ten children. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 PM Friday June 14, 2024, at Cabiness Baptist Church, 2967 Stokes Store Road, Forsyth, Georgia, with the Reverend Bob Hooks officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Wayman graduated from Dudley Hughes Vocational School and then moved to Atlanta where he worked for Overnite Transportation until retiring in March of 1990. He and Patricia moved to Forsyth, and he realized his lifelong dream of raising Black Angus Cattle. He and Patricia could be seen daily riding their gator and “hanging out” with the cows. Wayman was the patriarch and family historian. He would instantly recall dates and information and was ready to pass this information on to the family. Wayman was a man of common sense, logic and a devoted friend. Wayman was a faithful member at Cabiness Baptist Church.
Wayman is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, of 49 years; son Danny Scarbary (Sandra); daughter, Linda Dobb (Corey); five grandchildren, Jessica, Savanah, Chessi, Tony and Rainy; nine great-grandchildren; dear friend, Donny Payne; and his “copilot” Petey, his little dog.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Lighthouse Community Hospice for their care and compassion, especially Micha Kelly RN.
