Bill Perry Criswell, age 72 passed away on 1/25/2019. He was born August 10, 1946 in Grayson, Kentucky son of the late Edward and Carmen Hudgins Criswell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two older brothers, Phillip and Herbie. Bill graduated from Hitchins High School in the class of 1963. He went on to obtain a bachelor of Science degree from Lincoln Memorial University in 1967 and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Georgia College and State university in 1976. A decorated veteran, Bill was assigned as an Infantry soldier to the “C” company, 2/506 Infantry and later to the 3rd Brigade Headquarters, 101st Airborn Division as an Intelligence NCO, with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He returned to his home in Georgia after military service. In 1974, he began working for Geico Insurance Company, retiring from there in 2004 as the Regional Director of Staff Services for the southeastern region. Bill was an avid corvette hobbyist and spent many enjoyable hours restoring and driving his cars. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his classmates from Hitchens High School Class of 1963. He is survived by his wife Carmen, son and daughter-in-law Lee and Ellen Criswell, daughter and son-in-law Christie and Jeff Kotz, Daughter Dana Thompson, 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several cousins who live in the Grayson, KY area. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Monday January 28th at Monroe County Memorial Chapel in Forsyth, GA. In lieu of flowers Bill requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
