Alyvia Leigh Slaton received her heavenly healing on Sunday, August 22, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Maynard Baptist Church in Forsyth. To prevent the potential spread of COVID, masks are encouraged.
Alyvia was born January 25, 2005, in Macon, Georgia. She played the clarinet with the Monroe County Marching Band. After being diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2019, staying active with her band brought her joy. Alyvia also had a passion for medical science and dreamed of becoming a brain surgeon. In keeping with this desire, one of her final wishes was to donate her organs in hopes of helping others fighting her same battle.
She loved animals, especially her cat Mango. She shared an unbreakable bond with her best friend from preschool, Sara, who spent many days with her during her treatment watching TikTok, drawing, and doing crafts.
Left to cherish her memory includes her loving family: her parents, Ryan Slaton and Sabrina Stinson; her sister, Alyssa Stinson; and her grandparents, Fran Fowler and JR and Robin Alston. Alyvia was greeted in heaven by her grandfather’s Robert Lee Fowler Jr. and Lenny Lee Slaton.
Flowers will be accepted, or in lieu of flowers, please make donations in Alyvia's memory to the Jay's HOPE Foundation, 1157B Forsyth Street, Macon, GA, 31201.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
