Cecil Smith

Albert “Cecil” Smith was called home to be the Lord on November 17, 2021.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. with visitation two hours prior to the service at Forsyth Apostolic Church in Forsyth, GA.  Rev. M. Jeremy Causey and Rev. Randall Alger will officiate.  Burial will follow the service in the Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens, Forsyth, GA. Masks and social distancing are encouraged. 

Cecil was born April 23, 1954 in Barnesville, GA to the late A.C. and Nellie Pearl Howard Smith.  He was a member of and served on the Trustee Board of Directors of Forsyth Apostolic Church. He was a Veteran of the Army National Guard and retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections.  He was known for his faith, love and dedication to God and his family.  He loved to spend his leisure fishing and hunting.

Cecil is preceded in death by his father, A.C. Smith, mother Nellie Pearl Howard Smith and sister Kathy Smith Ford.  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sheilah Palmer Smith, son Joshua Smith (Brooke), granddaughter Briseis Smith and grandson Jase Smith; Siblings Beverly Parks, Dwight Smith, Richard Smith (Karen), Joseph Smith; Sister-in-Law Jennifer Meadows, Brother-in-Law Joel Palmer (Sharon), Greg Palmer (Pam) and Michael Causey; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
