John Dennis Hester

John Dennis Hester passed away Friday, March 31, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2017, at Rock Springs Church Forsyth Campus, 1278 Juliette Road, Forsyth, GA 31029.  Burial will be private.  Rev. Chip Garrison and Dr. Benny Tate will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.  Mr. Hester, the son of the late Lewis Felton Hester and Margaret Price Hester, was born August 27, 1937, in Wheeler County, Georgia. He was retired from the United States Post Office and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  Mr. Hester was a member and Deacon of Rock Springs Church Forsyth Campus.  He was a former member of the Square Dance Association, was very active in the Swinging Ramblers Camping Club and was very supportive of the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Association.  Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Hester of Forsyth; children, Tim (Connie) Hester of Forsyth and Sonja (Cliff) Evans of Smarr; brother, Fred (Bobbie) Hester of Roberta; grandchildren, Cliff and Lindsey Evans of Smarr and Kyle and Brooke Evans of Smarr; great grandchildren, Sophie, Sara and Scarlet Evans.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes, Inc., Post Office Box 1000, Stockbridge, GA 30281 or to the donor’s favorite charity.  Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
