Peggy Lee McMurray passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Forsyth Presbyterian Church. Rev. Marilyn Tucker-Marek will officiate. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends following the service at 4:00 p.m., in the Forsyth Presbyterian Parish House. Mrs. McMurray, the daughter of the late Claude Louis Monte and Ryeta Nan Lemon Monte was born February 27, 1950, in Junction City, Kansas. She retired from an automobile dealership as an office manager. Mrs. McMurray was a member of Forsyth Presbyterian Church and a plantation quilter. Survivors include her husband, Arthur McMurray of Forsyth; children, Paul Louis Holmer Monte of Columbus and Laura Lee Hathaway of Utah; sister, Betty Lou Sullivan of Fletcher, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Maggie and Abigail Hathaway. The family requests no flowers but suggests memorials to Forsyth Presbyterian Church, 63 N Jackson Street, Forsyth, Ga 31029 in “Memory of Peggy Lee McMurray”. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
