Mary Wages Anderson

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE       Mary Vinita Wages " Momma Mary" Anderson passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016, Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2016, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m.in Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Highway, Athens, Georgia 30606.   Rev. Mark Goolsby will officiate.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.  Mrs. Anderson, the daughter of the late Hugh Hampton Wages and Daisy Louise Moore Wages, was born November 4, 1929, in Athens, Georgia. Her husband, Jerome Sanford Anderson, her daughter-in-law, Nancy M. Powell and her brother, Cecil W. Wages, Sr. preceded her in death.  Mrs. Anderson graduated from Tallulah Falls High School in 1947, later receiving an associate degree from Piedmont College.  She retired from the Monroe County Board of Education as a dietitian.  Mrs. Anderson was a Christian who loved her family, poetry, reading, music, dancing and especially reading her Bible.  Survivors include her children, Jerome S. (Felecia) Anderson of Acworth, Sam (Dee) Anderson of Forsyth, Edd (Pam) Anderson of Cartersville and Patricia (Roger) Holland of Forsyth; ten grandchildren, Hope, John, Andrew, Katie and Cohen Anderson, Elizabeth, Mark and Chris Holland, Tonya Agree and Tammy Singleton; and eighteen great grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.  To view this live at the time of the service or at a later time please visit: http://citylinktv.com/channel/forsyth-monroe-county-memorial-chapel/    Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
