Mr. Marvin R. Potts, Sr., 82, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016, surrounded by his family. Mr. Potts was born in Monroe County, Georgia and has lived in the Jacksonville area since 1969. He was a protestant and an avid Georgia Tech Fan. Mr. Potts retired in 1998 from Anheuser Busch as a Lab Technician after 22 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry W. Potts and Sallie Potts and a grandson: Joel Potts. Survivors include his wife: Wanda Potts; 5 children: Marvin Potts, Jr., Kenneth Potts, Wanda Ellen (Russell) Foster, James Bradley (Melody) Coffel and Jason Eugene (Michel) Coffel; a twin sister: Martha (Charles) Curtis; brother: Bartow Wesley Potts; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Duval Station Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Flanagan officiating. His family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Additional services and burial will be held at 1 PM on Friday, September 9, 2016 in Monroe Memorial Gardens in Forsyth, Georgia. The Potts Family request that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Duval Station Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
