Florine Gardner Purser

Margie Florine Gardner Purser passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2016, at New Providence Baptist Church with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. Rev. Nathan Jackson will officiate.  The family will greet friends the day of the service from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at the church.  Mrs. Purser, the daughter of the late Wiley Tucker Gardner and Doris Pitts Gardner was born January 10, 1941, in Atlanta, Georgia. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service after thirty-three years of service and was also retired from The Monroe County Board of Education.  Survivors include her husband, Oland H. Purser, Jr. of Forsyth; children, Oland (Angela) Purser, III of Valdosta and Kenneth Wayne (Laura Ann Flaxman) Purser of Oakland, California; sister, Peggy Gardner (Jimmy Lee) Yarbough of Plant City, Florida; brothers, Franklin (Melba) Gardner of Fayetteville and Ronnie Eugene (Donna) Gardner of Virginia; and her wonderful grandchildren, Mark (Jig) Purser, Sara, Ava and Aziza Purser.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to New Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, Post Office Box 381, Smarr, GA 31086.  Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
