Judith Eckels Herndon

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTEJudith Louise Eckels Herndon, formerly of Forsyth, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Herndon, the daughter of the late Jerome Watson Eckels and Louise Gulledge Eckels was born May 1, 1934, in Decatur, Georgia. Her husband, Wimley Fred Herndon, her daughter, Susan Herndon Castleman and her son-in-law, Henry Hank Castleman, preceded her in death. She was a retired bookkeeper, a member of Eastern Star and a member of Northminister Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her children, Wes (Tiffany) Herndon of Forsyth, Robert Herndon of Forsyth and Ricky Castleman of Macon; sister, JoAnne Pettey of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; and four grandchildren.
