Thomas Martellus Peters, Sr.

Thomas Martellus Peters, Sr. passed away Friday, July 8, 2016, following an automobile accident. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Bethany Primitive Baptist Church, 720 Courtland Avenue, Fort Valley, Georgia with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery.  Elder Roger McDonald will officiate.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Mr. Peters, the son of the late Martellus Jonas Peters and Reba Marie Sexton Adams was born September 18, 1941, in Columbia, Pennsylvania. His first wife, Lavon Peters preceded him in death.  He was a retired truck driver and farmer.  Survivors include his wife, Debbie Bowden Peters of Fort Valley; children, Sharie (Michael) Szczepanski of Baltimore, Maryland, Ronda Craven of Holbrook, Nebraska, Lorie (James) Hannah of Culloden, Kimberly (Efren) Marin of Americus and Tom (Terry) Peters, Jr. of Fort Valley; sister, Caroline Billings of Bel Air, Maryland; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.  The family may be contacted at the residence of Tom and Terry Peters, Jr., 1198 Tribble Road, Fort Valley, Georgia 31030.  Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
