Doris Smith Rhodes

Doris Jane Smith Rhodes passed away Friday, July 8, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. Dr. Dan Whitaker will officiate.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.  Mrs. Rhodes, the daughter of the late William Michael Smith and Donie Jane Gregory Smith, was born December 22, 1921, in Monroe County, Georgia. Her husband, Winburn King Rhodes preceded her in death.  She was retired owner and operator of Rhodes Nursery, a graduate of Mary Persons High School, a member of First Baptist Church of Forsyth and a member of Kingdom Builders.  Survivors include her children, Joe (Chris) Rhodes of Macon, Philip Rhodes of Forsyth and Lucy (Ralph) Bennett of Madison; two grandchildren; and one great grandchild.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to First Baptist Church of Forsyth, 95 W Morse Street, Forsyth, GA 31029.  To view this live at the time of the service or at a later time please visit: http://citylinktv.com/channel/forsyth-monroe-county-memorial-chapel/   Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
