Stephen Barrie Eller

Culloden . . . Stephen Barrie Eller passed away Friday, February 26, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Culloden City Cemetery. Rev. Arianna Eberle and Rev. Albert Parker will officiate.  The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2016, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.  Mr. Eller, the son of the late Eugene Rudolph Eller and Ildra Harris Eller was born March 24, 1940, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was Mayor of Culloden, known as "The Bard of Culloden”, for the past twenty years,  he served on council for two years, was a member of senior citizens of Culloden, a  volunteer firefighter, a member of Georgia Cattlemen's Association and a member of Culloden United Methodist Church.  He was retired from commercial construction, did home restorations and was a farmer.  Mr. Eller was an All American soccer player for Bowdoin College in Maine. Survivors include his wife, Faye Elliott Eller of Culloden; children, Jonathan Eller of Atlanta, Joseph (Cindy) Eller of Bakersville, California, David Eller of Atlanta, Michael Eller of Bluffton, South Carolina and Matthew (Anna) Eller of St. Simons Island; step-children, Richard (Sharon) Koon of Tallahassee, Florida, Rita (Barry) Walker of Dublin and Melinda (Tracy) Chesser of St. Johns, Florida; several grandchildren; and one great grandchild.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Culloden United Methodist Church. Post Office Box 36, Culloden, GA 31016.  Pallbearers will be, Ken Elliott, Bailey Elliott, Robert Dent, Killis Bennett, J. B. Haygood and Frank Pierson. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
