Culloden . . . Martha Jo Fountain passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Forsyth Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m., in Macon Memorial Park. Rev. Marilyn Tucker and Dr. Derek McAleer will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the Parish House, Forsyth Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Fountain, the daughter of the late John Chester Burnett and Annie Maude Hancock Burnett was born November 17, 1922, in Macon, Georgia. Her husbands, Ralph Davis Herin, who was killed in World War II, and Henry Schneider Fountain, Jr, preceded her in death. She retired from Bibb County Board of Education as a music teacher. Mrs. Fountain played piano and organ for Centenary United Methodist, Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Macon and Forsyth Presbyterian Church, for several years.
Survivors include her children, Ralph Herin of Macon and Beth (Mac) Brown of Culloden; brother in law, Joe Thrasher of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Michelle (Dr. Allen) Garrison of Macon, Lisa (Dr. Jeremy) Goodwin of Forsyth, Trey (Jodi) Brown of Macon and Kimberly Herin of Macon; great grandchildren, Lanier Justice, Lance Rhodes, Jessie Goodwin, Hannah Goodwin, Sydney Herin and Donovan Pas.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Forsyth Presbyterian Church, Post Office Box 539, Forsyth, GA 31029.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
