Jack Lopez Johns passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2015, at North Macon Church of Christ, 1190 Bass Road, Macon, Georgia 31210, with full military honors. Minister Harry Goff and Minister Bill Bonner will officiate. Burial will be private.
Mr. Johns, the son of the late WM Arthur Johns and Mary Elizabeth Walker Johns was born May 5, 1933, in Myakka City, Florida. His first wife, Judith Ann Johns preceded him in death. Mr. Johns retired from the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War and Vietnam. He was an avid gardener, golfer and loved hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his spouse, Linda Johns of Forsyth; children, Jack (Nancy) Johns of Bradenton, Florida and George (Heather) Johns of Creedmoor, North Carolina; step-children, Ron (Donna) Pringle of Forsyth and David (Sue) Pringle of DuBois, Pennsylvania; sisters, Bernice (Ben) Blount of Florida and Nancy Driskell of Florida; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
The family requests no flowers but suggests donations to Wounded Warrior Project, Post Office Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
