James Thomas Bearden

James Thomas Bearden  Forsyth . . . . James Thomas "Buz" Bearden passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2015, at the Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Rev. Benny Tate will officiate. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at the Chapel.    Mr. Bearden, the son of late Joseph Macklin Bearden and Sara Lee Herndon Bearden was born April 24, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia. He lived much of his life in the Atlanta area attending the University of Georgia as a Sigma Nu brother where he met his wife of 55 years, Georgianne Brown Bearden. He spent the last 30 years in Forsyth, a community he loved and called home. Buz was a retired entrepreneur, Coast Guard Korean War veteran, Eagle Scout and beloved father and friend. He was a Master Mason since 1965. He loved his God, his Country and his family.   Survivors include his wife, Georgianne Bearden; children, Stacie Bearden of Avondale Estates and Chris Bearden of Snellville; and his granddaughter Emily Bearden.   Buz never met a stranger he wouldn't help or a person with potential he didn't encourage.
