Harold Spencer Hamans
Juliette . . . Harold Spencer Hamans went to be with his Lord September 27, 2015 after a valiant fight with mesothelioma. Mr. Hamans was born in Auburndale, Florida on January 17, 1932 to the late Samuel Spencer Hamans and Nona Franklin Hamans but lived most of his life in Winter Haven, Florida. He served in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean Conflict and was a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven where he was a charter member. He was a retired accountant. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister, Katherine Pugh Shepherd of Lakeland, Florida.
Mr. Hamans is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, DeRita Frost Hamans; daughter, Myna Hamans Walton; grandchildren, Jacob Andrew Walton of Sandy Springs, GA and Angela (Teddy) Walton Collingsworth of Grovetown, GA; and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Monroe County Memorial Chapel Tuesday, October 6, 6-8 pm. The memorial service will take place in Winter Haven at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the Family requests donations to Calvary Baptist Church, Winter Haven, FL or Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Forsyth, GA.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
