James Franklin Mercer

James Franklin “Billy” Mercer Forsyth . . . James Franklin “Billy” Mercer passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2015, at Rocky Creek Baptist Church with burial in East Juliette Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Scott Harrell will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mr. Mercer, the son of the late Luke Seaborn Mercer and Annie Lou Pritchett Mercer, was born January 2, 1936, in Juliette, Georgia. His sons, James Calvin Mercer and Jeffery Wayne Mercer preceded him in death. He was retired from Bibb Company and was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Mercer of Forsyth; daughter, Nancy “Sirena” Scott of Macon; sister, Florence Bohannon of Forsyth; brothers, Chester (Sarah) Mercer of Jones County, Marion (Betty) Mercer of Zebulon and Herbert Lee Mercer of Juliette; four grandchildren, Heather Ward, Matthew Mercer, Annie Scott and Samantha Scott; two great grandchildren, Liberty Annabelle Ward and Noah Luke Forte; several nieces and nephews.
