Dorothy Wilson Herndon Forsyth . . . Mrs. Herndon passed away Friday, July 3, 2015. The family will greet friends at the home of Terry Herndon, 1024 Dames Ferry Road, Forsyth, GA 31029, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., Monday, July 6, 2015. A private graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m., at Monroe Memorial Gardens for family only. There will not be a viewing with family at the funeral home but friends are welcome to view the body and sign the guest book for Mrs. Herndon at the funeral home, during funeral home hours from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Mrs. Herndon was born July 20, 1925, in Musella, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Lee Wilson; husband, Horace Leo Herndon; brother, Lee "Buddy" Wilson; sister, Louise Shiver, daughter-in-law, Candace Herndon. Mrs. Herndon was a retired textile worker and was also employed with her husband in their carpet business, until the time of his death. Survivors include her daughter, Debbie (Jim) Weldon; grandchildren, Jennifer Toomey and Bubba Weldon; great grandchildren, Harrison and Parker Toomey and Mary Ella and Asher Weldon; son, Terry R Herndon; granddaughter. Annalise (Robbie) Forrester; great grandchildren, Gavin and Maggie Forrester; sister - in - law - Betty (Bobby) Ivey; sisters, Ruth Wilson, Ellen Ham, Nadine Meeks, Willene (Ted) Castleberry, Gay (Richard) Hawes; brothers, Gordon (Bobbie) Wilson, Talmadge (Becky) Wilson; many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the caregivers, Florine Gibson, Brenda Watkins, Maggie Cameron and Barbara Culler. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201 or to Pine Pointe Hospice Navicent Health, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Ga 31210. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
