CLICK TO VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE  Franklin Delano Pierson Culloden . . . . Franklin Pierson went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 17, 2015. He gave a good fight to the end. Franklin was born in Culloden, Ga on May 10, 1933. Franklin was a dedicated father, family man and friend to all he met. He was known as a hard worker who never quit. His passion was dairy farming and farming in general. He graduated as the Valedictorian of Mary Persons High School in 1950 and went on to Gordon Military College to graduate in 1952. He continued his education at the University of Georgia and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1955. He also played in the band at Gordon Military College. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society at UGA. He served 18 years with the Georgia National Guard in Forsyth leaving with the rank of Captain. He served on the Board of Directors for Liberty Savings and Loan and Miss Georgia Dairies. He also served on the Board of Directors for Dairyman Inc. for 25 years and President of Flav-O-Rich Corp. for 12 years. He was in the dairy, feed manufacturing, seed, fertilizer and farm equipment business for over 50 years. He joined Sharon Primitive Baptist Church in 1951 and moved his letter to the Culloden Primitive Baptist Church in 1959. He went on to become a deacon in 1968 and served the office well until the present. He was married to his lovely wife Betty Watson Pierson on July 11, 1954. They were married for sixty one years. He is predeceased by Robert H and Mattie Byrd H. Pierson (parents) and Michael A Norris (grandson). His survivors include his wife, Betty W Pierson; three children, Fran (Bennett) Norris, Franklin Jr (Tammie) Pierson and William A Pierson; Roberta S Pierson (sister-in-law); eight grandchildren, 2 great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Family can be contacted at 17355 Hwy 74, Culloden, Ga. 31016 Visitation will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 from 6-8 at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Culloden Primitive Baptist Church, Culloden, Ga. followed by graveside service at Culloden City Cemetery beside the Old School house. In lieu of flowers send donations to: Culloden Primitive Baptist Church, 4990 Hwy 83 S, Culloden, Ga. 31016. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
