Forsyth . . . . Virginia Corley Lloyd passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2015, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private. Rev. Stanley Harrell will officiate. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Lloyd, the daughter of the late James Chaney Corley, Jr. and Carolyn Holloman Corley was born January 3, 1922, in Juliette, Georgia. Her son, Howell McGuirk Johnston, Jr. and her brother, James F. Corley preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Mary Persons High School and attended Tift College, Old Wesleyan College and Brevard Community College. Mrs. Lloyd was previously employed with Harris Intertype, a contractor for NASA, a job she was very proud of. She was a volunteer for Monroe County Historical Society and Save A Pet and was a member of D.A.R., D.A.C., 1812, Eastern Star, U.D.C. and Magna Charta. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Lloyd of Forsyth; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; numerous cousins and friends. The family requests no flowers but suggests donations to Fairview United Methodist Church, c/o Molly Davis, 442 Sunset Circle, Forsyth, Georgia 31029.
