Janie E. Bruner Juliette . . . Janie E Bruner, 67, died May 15, 2015 surrounded by her family. She battled breast cancer since July and started battling Leukemia in April. Janie was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 23, 1947. Janie was a registered nurse who served stateside in the Army during Vietnam. She enjoyed her work as a psychiatric nurse at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital and as a school nurse at Lenape Vo-Tech. After retirement she moved to Georgia to be with her family. She worked for the Standardized Patient Program at Mercer University and loved all her students. Janie was an active member of St Francis Episcopal Church where she served on Vestry. She was also a member of Daughters of the King, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed taking violin lessons on her father’s violin. Janie is preceded in death by her mother Dorothy (Davidson) Bruner and father James Bruner and great nephew Dustin Brumbaugh. Janie is survived by her daughter Debra Bruner-Smith (Doug) and grandchildren Jessica and James, who were the light of her life, her sister Nancy Brumbaugh (Russell), nephews Dan Brumbaugh (Lisa), Jamey Brumbaugh (Sheila), great nephews Danny Brumbaugh (Janelle), Nathan Brumbaugh, great, great niece Haley Brumbaugh, and also several cats and dogs, especially Cookie. Visitation will be held Tuesday May 19th, 2015 from 6-8pm at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, Forsyth, GA. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 20th, 2015 at 11:00am at St Francis Episcopal Church, Macon, GA. The family may be contacted at Cheryl (Smith) Grant’s, 394 Ensign Rd, Forsyth, GA on Monday, May 18 from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations to All About Animals, PO Box 4331, Macon GA 31208.
