Eddie Cleveland Bowden
Smarr . . . Eddie Cleveland Bowden went to be with his Lord Sunday, April 26, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Bowden, the son of the late Julian Ray Bowden and Josephine Rumble Bowden, was born March 12, 1938 in Smarr, Georgia. He was retired from Atlanta Gas Company. Mr. Bowden was a beef cattle and chicken farmer. He was a faithful member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, serving on various boards and serving as Sunday School Superintendent for forty plus years. He was a veteran of the Georgia Army National Guard and was a member and Past President of Forsyth Exchange Club.
Survivors include his wife of forty-eight years, Lillian R. Bowden of Smarr; children, Karen (Richard) Lunney of Marietta and Douglas Ray (Kelli) Bowden of Smarr; sister, Joann Woodward of Smarr; four grandchildren, Jonathan Lunney, Justin Lunney, Stephen Bowden and Amy Bowden.
Flowers will be accepted or the family suggests donations to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 261, Smarr, GA 31086
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
