Robert Pierre DeRieux
Forsyth. . . . Robert Pierre DeRieux passed away Friday, April 24, 2015. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private. Rev. Larry Caywood will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Mr. De Rieux, the son of the late Robert and Barbara Alverson DeRieux was born February 23, 1930, in Birmingham, Alabama. His daughter, Michelle DeRieux Griffin and his brother, Fred DeRieux preceded him in death. He was retired owner and operator of ADF Welding and Medical Supply. Mr. DeRieux was a veteran of the United States Marines, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers and was also drafted into the United States Marine Corps where he played baseball. He was very active in all sports.
Survivors include his wife, Jo DeRieux of Forsyth; children, Rob (Anissa) DeRieux, II of Forsyth, Dale (Melody) DeRieux of Birmingham, Alabama and Allison DeRieux Ace of Birmingham, Alabama; brother, Jerry (Virginia) DeRieux of Birmingham, Alabama; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Ga 31210.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
