Alan Dorr Ralph
Forsyth . . . Alan Dorr Ralph passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, February 26, at 2 p.m. at Forsyth First Baptist Church in Forsyth. Rev. Darrell Watson and Rev. Glenn Gregg will officiate.
Mr. Ralph, son of the late Robert Arundel Ralph and Margaret May Johnson Ralph, was born on July 2, 1944, in Akron, Ohio. He owned and operated The Waterwheel Art Gallery and Framing on Amelia Island, Florida for 26 years. He retired and moved with his wife Tullye Burch Ralph to Forsyth in 2007. He was a skilled musician and played several instruments and sang with the Forsyth First Baptist Church Choir and in the Doc ‘n Not Doc Duo. He was a prominent member of The Backlot Players where he acted in and directed numerous productions. He served in the U.S. Navy for 2 years.
Survivors are his wife, Tullye B. Ralph of Forsyth, Son Aubrey Ralph of Madison, Wisconsin, Daughter Allison Ralph of Washington, DC, Sisters Jane Ralph of Mashburn, Wisconsin, and Katy Ralph of Elcho, Wisconsin, Stepdaughter Dawn Williams of Forsyth, Step-grandchildren Stephen Swain and Hannah Williams.
The family requests no flowers but suggests donations to Backlot Players, 23 West Johnston Street, Forsyth, GA or to Forsyth First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 95 West Morse Street, Forsyth, GA 31029.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
