Clayburn Parker Rhodes
Forsyth . . . Clayburn Parker Rhodes passed away Monday, February 16, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2015, at Northside Congregational Holiness Church with burial in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Rev. Watson Jones will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Rhodes, the son of the late John A. Rhodes, Sr. and Odie Parker Rhodes, was born July 21, 1915, in Spalding County, Georgia. His wives, Bernice Rhodes and Sara Rhodes preceded him in death. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base, a veteran of the Georgia Army National Guard and a member of Northside Congregational Holiness Church. Mr. Rhodes was known as the Monroe County "Tomato Man."
Survivors include his son, Bill (Jill) Rhodes of Plainwell, Michigan; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Northside Congregational Church, Building Fund, 858 Indian Springs Drive, Forsyth, Ga 31029.
Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
