Johnny Bradford Thornton Forsyth . . . Johnny Bradford Thornton passed away Friday, December 5, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 8, 2014, at Paran Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Reverend Baker Earwood and Rev. Dan Gatlin will officiate. The family will greet friends the day of the funeral from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Thornton, the son of the late William and Ida Paulk Thornton was born May 1, 1932 in Florence, Alabama. His wife, Helen Lindsey Thornton and his daughter, Kimberly Celeste Bailey preceded him in death. He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic, a member of Paran Baptist Church and a former stock car driver. Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Moore of Forsyth; son in law, Jeff Bailey of Forsyth; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
