Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2014, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends the day of the service from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m., at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Ms. Truitt, the daughter of the late Henry Welch and Elizabeth Carter Welch was born March 4, 1933, in Eatonton, Georgia. She was retired from Georgia Power Company. Ms. Truitt was Miss Putnam County in 1951 She received the second highest GPA that was ever completed at Eatonton High School. Survivors include her children, Mary Wilkerson and Ann Wade of Forsyth; sister, Frankie Jenkins of Milledgeville; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
