Jean Mathews Bowdoin Forsyth . . . . Jean Mathews Bowdoin passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. Reverend Franklin Etheridge will officiate. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Bowdoin, the daughter of the late Calvin Thomas Mathews and Lucy Champion Mathews was born January 19, 1929, in Fort Valley, Georgia. Her husband, Robert Lee Bowdoin preceded her in death. She was previously employed with Masonic Grand Lodge as a secretary. Survivors include her daughters, Lynn (Steve) Martin and Kathy Bowdoin; granddaughter, Jennifer Martin, all of Forsyth; several nieces and nephews. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
