Mary Gladys Denniston Fugate Twiggs County. . . Mary Gladys Denniston Fugate, 86, of Gary Drive, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014, at Pine Pointe Hospice. Memorial service and burial will be private. Mary was born October 15, 1927 in Morgan County, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late William Leonard and Bessie Bird Helton Denniston; four brothers: Ishmael, Allie, Junior and Harlen Denniston; husband, Wallace Marvin Fugate Jr., sons: Wallace III and Leonard Fugate; one grandson and three great grand-children. Mary moved to Georgia in 1967 and lived in Twiggs County for the past 35 years. She was a homemaker. Her passions were growing flowers, quilting, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles. But most of all she enjoyed playing weekly games of dominoes and cards with her children, which she usually won. Survivors include a sister, Lennie Ross and brother, Donald Denniston; four daughters: Janet (Edward) Ferguson, Sandra (Earl) Collins, Darnell Fugate (George McLellan), and Patricia McBee, all of Georgia. Mrs. Fugate has 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 9 great great-grandchildren plus numerous other family members and friends. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
