Deputy Michael Andrew Norris Culloden . . . Deputy Michael Andrew Norris passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014, from injuries sustained in the line of duty. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2014, at Georgia Public Safety Training Center, 1000 Indian Springs Drive, Forsyth, GA 31029 with interment in Culloden City Cemetery. Elder Matt Yawn will officiate. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Georgia Public Safety Training Center. Deputy Norris was born January 5, 1990 in Upson County Georgia. After graduating from Mary Persons High School in 2008, he studied criminal justice at Gordon State College and graduated with an associate’s degree. His career began two years prior with the sheriff’s department as a jail officer. He was also a school resource officer at K. B. Sutton Elementary School for the 2013-2014 school year. He transferred to the patrol division in June of this year. He was a member of Culloden Primitive Baptist Church, a member of PBA, a member of the Boy Scouts of America and a member of Delta Water Fowl. Survivors include his wife, Logan Norris; parents, Bennett and Fran Norris; brother, Brandon (Charlotte) Norris; grandparents, Edd and Jeanelle Norris and Franklin and Betty Pierson; nieces, Isabella and Sydney Norris all of Culloden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Culloden Primitive Baptist Church, 270 Main Street, Culloden, GA 31016 or donations in his honor to C. Mo’s Kids at CMOSkids.org to enrich the lives of special needs children with outdoor experiences.
