Boyd Alan Hershey Macon . . . Boyd Alan Hershey passed away September 13, 2014, of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, 86 West Main Street, Forsyth, GA 31029. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., in Greenwood Cemetery, 1173 Cascade Avenue, S.W., Atlanta, Georgia 30311. Reverend Jimmy Corbett, Reverend John Irwin and Reverend Michael Ellinas will officiate. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the funeral at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Boyd, the son of the late Hadley and Patricia Hershey of East Point GA, was born July 2, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee. His brother, Walter Hershey of Carrollton GA preceded him in death. Boyd lived at Wesley Glen Ministries Group Home for the past 13 years. He enjoyed his large family gatherings and loved everyone. He was most interested in the history of the American Indian, the Egyptian pyramids and outer space. He read National Geographic regularly. Boyd is survived by his sister, Karlene Culp and husband Terry Culp of Bolingbroke, GA and brother, Steven Hershey of Yadkinville, NC. He was loved by his four nieces and two nephews and a large extended family. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Wesley Glen Ministries, 3711 Agape Village Road, Macon, GA 31210. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
