Harry Lee Spear, Sr. Macon . . . Harry Lee Spear, Sr. passed away Friday, September 5, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 8, 2014, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Chapel. Burial will be private. David Walton will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the church. Mr. Spear, the son of the late William Howard “Speedy” Spear and Lillie Mallory Marshall Spear was born September 18, 1927, in Folkston, Georgia. He was a retired flooring contractor and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Joan Spear of Macon; children, Harry Lee (Charlotte) Spear, Jr. of Huntsville, Alabama and Deborah (Ted) Suralis of Riverview, Florida; sisters, Carolyn Dumas of LaGrange and Joyce Frey of Alamo, California; five grandchildren, Linton Holleman, Emilee Durham, Harry Lee Spear, III, Brian Spear and Andrew Spear; and four great grandchildren. The family requests no flowers but suggests donations to Mr. Zion Baptist Church, 7015 Rivoli Road, Macon, GA 31210. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
