Massey Edgar “Butch” Hawkins, Jr. Forsyth . . . Massey Edgar “Butch” Hawkins, Jr. passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private. Reverend Scott Harrell will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Butch, the son of the late Massey Edgar Hawkins, Sr. and Lillie Grace Ham Spear was born November 9, 1945, in Manchester. He was a retired contractor and a veteran of the United States Marines, having served during Vietnam. Survivors several children and grandchildren. The family may be contacted at the residence of Pat and Robert Fort, 2634 Hwy 83 South, Forsyth, GA 31029. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Wounded Warrior Project, Post Office Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
