Naomi Eloise Blackwell Macon . . . Naomi Eloise Blackwell passed away peacefully on Sunday August 17, 2014 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Macon, GA with burial in New Elim Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Lee Griffin and Rev. Franklin Etheridge will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Mrs. Blackwell was born June 10, 1920 in Rochelle, Ga. She was a wonderful Christian Lady. She worked as an office manager for Macon Dodge and retired from Triangle Chemical Company. She had been a member of New Elim Baptist Church and taught there in the children’s classes. She was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for 53 years where she taught the Ruth Bible Class for almost 50 years. She also worked there with Children’s Church, led a children’s choir on Sunday nights, many other church ministries through the years. Survivors include her brother, William E. Willingham Jr. (Bernice), brother-in-law, Ottis B. Lavender Jr., nieces, Rhea Lavender Ward (Russ), Jennifer Willingham of Macon, and Julie Hannock (Kevin) of St. Simons, GA and Janice Baker(Jack) of Atlanta, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210 or Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 5455 Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Macon, GA 31216. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
