VIEW TRIBUTENell Crawley Daniel Forsyth . . . Nell Crawley Daniel passed away Friday, August 15, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 18, 2014, at First Baptist Church with burial in Monroe Hills Memorial Gardens. Dr. H. Darrell Watson will officiate. The family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 17, 2014, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Nell, the daughter of the late Odus O’Neal and Willie Beatrice Holmes O’Neal was born October 25, 1924, in Coffee County, Alabama. After the death of her husband William Clarence “W. C.” Crawley, she married James Emmitt Daniel. Her step-son, Lewey Frank Crawley preceded her in death. She was retired owner and operator of W.C.’s Minute Mart. Nell, along with her husband W. C. Crawley owned and operated Forsyth Bait Farm for thirty five years and W. C.’s Minute Mart for thirty-two years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and a member of Woodmen of the World. Survivors include her husband, Emmitt Daniel of Milledgeville; daughter and son in law, Glenda and Harold Smith of Forsyth; sister, Virginia O’Neal Tatum of Friendswood, Texas; grandchildren, Harold Lee (Corinne) Smith, Jr. of Athens and Glen (Janna) Smith of Canton and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to First Baptist Church, 95 West Morse Street, Forsyth, Georgia 31029 or to Georgia Baptist Children’s Home, Post Office Box 329, Palmetto, GA 30268. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
