Harold Miles “Chickadee” Benson Forsyth . . . Harold Miles “Chickadee” Benson passed away Monday, June 23, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private at Monroe Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends following the service at the residence, 587 Old Rumble Road, Forsyth, Georgia. Mr. Benson, the son of the late Charlie Wyatt Benson and Kate Allen Benson was born November 23, 1931, in Two Buttes Colorado. His siblings, Allen Benson, Louise Melton and Bob Benson preceded him in death. He was a 1948 graduate of Mary Persons High School. Mr. Benson was retired from Southern Natural Gas and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War and also a veteran of the Georgia Army National Guard. Survivors include his wife of fifty four years, Kathryn Sue Greene Benson, son, Jim (Lisa) Benson, daughter, Jerri Allyson Benson, grandchildren, Jim Benson, Jr. and Miles Benson, nephew, Tommy Greene all of Forsyth, brother, Charles Benson of Warner Robins, sister, Kathryn Tingle of Forsyth and a host of nieces and nephews. The family requests no flowers but suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
