Sandra Hardage Bunn Forsyth . . . . Sandra Hardage Bunn died at her home in Forsyth surrounded by her family on Monday evening, June 2, 2014. For over four years, Sandra courageously battled a very rare form of cancer known as leiomyosarcoma. Born September 16, 1948, in Macon, Georgia, to Grace and Alex Hardage, Jr., she attended Mary Persons High School, graduating in 1966. Following high school, she attended Tift College and Crandall College, respectively. After a brief time as an administrative assistant at Fickling & Walker Realty and Clarke, Haygood, & Lynch Attorneys at Law, Sandra began her 27-year career at the United States Postal Service, most of those years serving as the Postmaster to Bolingbroke, Georgia. Survivors include her husband of nearly 45 years, J.T. Bunn of Forsyth; sons, Eric Bunn of Forsyth and Dr. Gregg Bunn of Franklin, Tennessee; sister, Candice Griffin of Forsyth; niece, Kelli Banister of Rome, Georgia; nephew, Major Matthew Griffin of Goldsboro, North Carolina; and grandsons, Gregory Alexander and Blake Andrew Bunn of Franklin, Tennessee. A memorial service in celebration of Sandra's life will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 7, 2014, at First Baptist Church, 95 W. Morse Street, Forsyth, Georgia. Family will receive friends following the memorial service in the church's Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the following: The Pregnancy Center,13 N. Lee Street, Forsyth, Georgia 31029, The Ministry of Music First Baptist Church,95 W. Morse Street, Forsyth, Georgia 31029 or to New Providence Baptist Church, 2560 U.S. 41, Smarr, Georgia 31083. Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
