Rennie Mayfield Pitts
Forsyth . . . Rennie Mayfield Pitts passed away Monday, May 26, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2014, at Forsyth First Baptist Church with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. Dr. H. Darrell Watson will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Pitts, the daughter of the late J. P. Mayfield and Jewel Coleman Mayfield was born March 1, 1926, in Forsyth, Georgia. Her husband, Earnest M. Dungan, the father of her children and her son, Earnest R. Dungan preceded her in death. After the death of Mr. Dungan, she married the late Emmett (Jack) Pitts. She was a graduate of Mary Persons High School and was the first female police officer with the City of Forsyth. Mrs. Pitts was a member of Forsyth First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Margie Baker Greene of Forsyth and her granddaughter, Wendy Baker of Atlanta.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Forsyth First Baptist Church, 95 West Morse Street, Forsyth, Ga 31029.
